Starter.

A few hours a week. A senior engineer on call when you need one.

Most weeks, founders don't need a full-time technical hire; they need someone to look at the thing before they commit to it. A second set of eyes on an architecture call. A code review on the PR that's been sitting open for three days because nobody on the team has the context. A gut-check on the AI feature that works in dev and makes everyone nervous about production.

That's what Starter is.

It's not a lot of hours. It's the right hours, from someone who's been in production systems for twenty years, and who's going to tell you the truth about what you're looking at.

Workflow

How it usually runs

A short kickoff call so I can get the shape of your product and your stack. Then it's async after that. You send me the thing, I look at it properly, I come back with an opinion that's actually useful.

I read code carefully. I don't leave drive-by comments. If I flag something, there's a reason; if I say it looks fine, it looks fine.

One call a month if you want one. Otherwise, messages and PR threads. Most founders on this tier prefer it that way. They don't want another meeting on the calendar, they want the question answered.

What you actually get

A senior engineer in your corner; on call, not on payroll.

Architecture gut-checks. Code reviews on the PRs that matter. Async answers to the "is this the right way to do this" questions โ€” the ones that used to keep you up before you had someone to ask.

Is this for you?

Who this fits

Shipping daily?

Early-stage founders shipping actively, who know enough to know when they don't know. Technical founders with a small team who want senior eyes on the hard bits without adding a headcount. Solo builders who trust their instincts most of the time and want a backstop for the rest.

If you're already shipping three PRs a day and want someone reviewing all of them, Starter is going to feel thin; that's what Partner is for.
